The 18th Annual Heroes to Hero 5k Run/Walk will be held on Saturday October 12, 2019. Once again, this race will provide the tri-state area with one of the biggest, most complete 5k events in the area! And as always, this race will continue to honor the lives and careers of firefighter Tommy Stewart of the Gloucester City Fire Department, Chief Jim Sylvester of the Mt. Ephraim Fire Department and John West of the Camden County Fire Marshal’s Office. All three men were killed in the line of duty while attempting to save the lives of three little girls on July 4, 2002.
This 5k race attracts as many as 700 participants annually. Each and every year the main goal of this race is to take a moment to reflect on the careers and the impact that Tommy, Jim and John made on their departments and their communities.
Because of your generosity in the past, the Heroes to Hero Run 5k Run/Walk has been able to provide $3000 annually in scholarships to high school seniors who desire to continue their education in the emergency fields and support the Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund who has committed to providing a college education for the children of Camden County’s police, fire and EMS personnel killed in the line of duty.
Please consider filling out our donor option form that accompanied this letter. With a $100+ donation, your business name will be displayed on the back of our official “race-day” T-shirt (500 shirts will be printed). Your donation must be received by September 15th in order to make the T-shirt printing deadline.
Thank you for your consideration and we hope you will continue to make the Heroes to Hero 5k Walk/Run a success, and most importantly, honor the lives and careers of our three fallen heroes. Please contact our race director, Dawn Ragan at (856) 768-9656 with any questions or concerns regarding the race or your donation. Visit our website at www.heroestoherorun.com.
